SOLUTIONS INSPIRED BY 5 R's

REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, REGENERATE.

We believe these 5 R's have the power to regenerate our planet's health, when partnered with education, youth & family participation, responsible lifestyles and commerce leadership, transparency and action. We invite you, as an educator mentor, to continue to explore what these 5 R's can do now and what we all must come together to do, making them truly effective. *RECYCLING is not as simple or effective as it once was, making REFUSE, REDUCE, & REUSE solutions of primary focus for our world to truly have the opportunity to REGENERATE.

FOR 6 GLOBAL CHALLENGES

CLIMATE, FOOD, WATER, POLLUTION, WILDLIFE & LAND ...

...because we believe every child deserves to inherit a planet better than the one their parents were handed... we have serious work to do to regenerate what the last 50 years has taken from this opportunity FOR OUR CHILDREN.

The UN recently announced that nearly 1 million animal and plant species are near extinction, warming is wiping out coral reefs and melting glacier ice at an unprecedented rate, plastic pollution is impacting the health of ocean ecosystems & impacting global social justice and chemical agriculture is destroying topsoil 10x faster than it can be replenished, offering only 60 years of sustainability for the FOOD WE NEED... ACTION must be taken NOW. for PEOPLE. for PLANET. for THEM.

Who is 1% For The Planet & How Can They Help Build Impactful Opportunities for Your Students?

1% For the Planet is a global organization and movement inspiring businesses, organizations and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual membership and everyday actions. This global network is comprised of both MEMBERS and NONPROFIT PARTNERS who, together, provide responsible products and create tools, curriculum and experiences that educate & activate sustainable environmental solutions. 1% for the Planet was started in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (founder of Blue Ribbon Flies) who recognize the power of collective action and youth participation to protect the environment.

AddyPres is a 1% for the Planet Nonprofit Partner.

Bull, Headmaster of Campbell Hall School in California describes his dedication to the alliance:

"Going green means so many things to different people, and despite our genuine commitment to sustainability, we were having difficulty focusing our efforts. Working with the Alliance has allowed us to find a community of like-minded schools and set challenging, but reasonable, goals."
