AP Solver6 SEL Activity Series

We published our first Solver6, World Kindness Day 2017! Click to view and download, AP Solver6: Gratitude & Wonder for your home or classroom!

The AddyPres Solver6 activities and lesson plan series support Social Emotional Learning & the parents (& teachers) who bring these FUN, life experiences to their thriving kids! The Solver6's are meant to assist parents at home and with a few clever tweaks, can easily transfer into K-5 classrooms. Our Solver6's can either serve as a series of already-prepared life-inspiring directives you follow with your children on any given day or provide great inspiration for all you will make of what we've started for you! We LOVE seeing how we inspired your kids to thrive, please share your AddyPres Solver6 experiences with us, or leave a comment!

Our AddyPres Solver6 Model

Each Series includes the following 6 SEL focused components partnered with a headlining book or author:

  • Center: A centering practice or tool as promoted by MindYeti. It is now well established that social emotional skills, including the ability to regulate self-awareness & self-management play an integral role in academic and life success. Mindfulness is an exceptional tool.

  • Inspired: Book read and SEL focused discussion points by topic.

  • Express: We'll offer a SEL focused art or science project and most will teach perseverance in their technique!

  • Celebrate: We'll offer an opportunity to share a celebratory moment with your child/students. Celebrating the stepping stones can build character, self-awareness, kindness and civic qualities in your children/students.

  • Solve: Problem Solving skills are a top 5 necessity for the 21st century work force and yet, a number one deficiency in the incoming workforce. The Solver6 series will offer a real life problem and help guide you in building the skills for your child/students to solve it! Most of these opportunities will intrigue a civic mindset engaging or inspiring children to contribute to their family, school or community.

  • Reflect: Each Solver6 Series will offer a journal reflection opportunity. It is advised not to offer your child/students more than one prompt per week, as it has been linked to lower impact when overused.

In the classroom, Solver6 Series are designed to implement over the course of a unit or week. These series compliment our KIND IDEAS Program (launching 2018) and are all meant to be an introductory or supplementary tool that assists teachers in bringing awareness to CASEL recommended evidence-based SEL programs like the Committee for Children's Second Step Programs & The Hawn foundation's MindUp program to their schools and districts. These evidence based programs are essential and backed by science that proves they better prepare students for the 21st century in life & learning. Our For Teachers page  & KIND IDEAS SEL Awareness Program (coming soon) can further assist you with these efforts.

At home, the Solver6 series are meant to assist parent's duel effort with educators to build thriving children. The series are meant to be worked into life over the course of many sittings & assist as a tool for parents to bring social emotional learning into their homes. We offer a SEL approach to reading with collaborating art, exercises & discussions that will help in your endeavor to raise thriving children who are compassionate, self-aware, responsible decision makers!
