TOO MUCH SUGAR Detox Plan

This was our successful run with getting rid of the Halloween candy bags! Ok, Halloween was over, but the kid's candy bags were still alive and well in the cabinet, making their daily reappearance after dinner (and when little hands sneak a treat here and there!) The affects were nothing but negative on mind, body and soul--- candy in any amount is just no good for the body, but if you still want to eat it, we advise organic alternatives in VERY SMALL AMOUNTS!

A Successful Halloween Bag Ridding Session

  • The candy bags HAVE to go! I know, this can be traumatic--- they worked hard for that bag of treats! But it's non-negotiable. We donated the trick or treat leftovers to our soldiers and BRIBED the kids... I know, shameful. But the benefits outweigh the negatives in this circumstance. So Pres went for a 7 candy keep, $25 toy budget, and homemade organic chocolate chip cookies dessert replacement to wean for the next week. Addy went for a 5 candy keep, $25 toy and the cookies. Best $50 we've ever spent! Both Bags--- GONE.
  • Detox Body & Skin: Drinking water, water, water for everyone reduces the cravings, gets the toxins out and staves off the withdrawl cravings that are triggered, yep, they're real--- due actually to dehydration brought on by too much sugar. Eating a healthy, fruit and vegetable (high in fiber) breakfast, lunch and dinner and two non-processed healthy snacks with a "better" dessert weaning strategy will get everyone back on track. If you mix in a nightly family walk with the elimination of daily treats it will offer the extra exercise to burn the candy bulge acquired and fill the pleasure void through family time!
  • Detox The Mind: Too much sugar interrupts our ability to concentrate, mucks up our metabolism, negatively affects cognitive function & psychological well being, impairs memory and learning skills, CAUSES & CONTRIBUTES TO DEPRESSION & ANXIETY and creates a vicious cycle of intense cravings. So, while a night of indulgence for Halloween SHOULD BE HAD-- because it's FUN!! It's time to get back on track and GET THE CANDY OUT!
